Sign a PDF Online in Your Browser

Open a PDF or image, create or upload a signature, place it on the page, and download the result. Your document stays in this browser tab.

The file stays in this browser tab and is cleared when you leave or choose Start Over.

Choose a document to begin.

How the Local Document Signer Works

  1. Choose an unencrypted PDF, PNG, or JPEG up to 25 MB.
  2. Create a signature by drawing, typing, or cleaning an uploaded image.
  3. Place one or more signatures, dates, or text fields and adjust them with a pointer or keyboard.
  4. Download the modified PDF or signed image, then use Start Over to clear the tab.
Important distinction: the download contains a visual signature image. It is not a certificate-based digital signature and does not provide identity verification, signer invitations, consent records, tamper evidence, or an audit trail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my PDF and signature uploaded?

No. The editor loads and modifies the document in your browser memory. Document bytes and signature content are not sent to HandwriteLabs.

Can I sign images too?

Yes. You can open a PNG or JPEG, place signature, date, or text fields, and download a PNG copy.

Does this create a certified digital signature?

No. It places a signature image in a document. It does not authenticate a signer, use a digital certificate, or create an audit trail.

Will PDF pages be rasterized?

No. PDF export modifies the original PDF and embeds the new overlays while preserving its pages.

What files are supported?

Unencrypted PDF, PNG, and JPEG files up to 25 MB are supported.

Can I place more than one signature?

Yes. Create and place multiple signatures, dates, and text fields across different PDF pages.
